Sketches
Drawing is how I think. These pages come before any model or render: the sun before the wall, the section before the image. Click any drawing to see it in full.
Section in Ink
Winged roof planes over an arcade. The drawing tests how far light can travel under a floating roof before silence takes over the room below.
Chapel Threshold
Golden section, ellipse and arch. A doorway studied as symbolism in proportion, where architecture and trinity meet in one figure.
Axonometric in Graphite
Mass, void and shadow, drawn until the buildings hold together as one street in the air.
House of the Religious Man
Three podiums, one for each person of the trinity, each with its own purpose and its own hour of sun.
On the Void
A notebook page. Light reveals the void and silence inhabits it. The void accentuates mass and solidity, and it is pure space.
Plan Around a Heart
Curved rooms turning toward a centre, with water and garden folded into the plan.
On the Floor
A notebook page against the standardised section. Equal floors are cheaper and quicker, and they also stop a tall building from breathing.
Facing West
The room where the day ends. The plan is drawn from the sun's side first.
