About

Pierre Zebouni at his drawing table

I am an architect based in London. I spent five years at the Architectural Association, moving between school and practice and working part time at global studios including Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects and SPPARC. I graduated with commendation and have since been part of the team at Foster + Partners, working on projects across a range of scales and regions.

I believe architecture exists first to serve us: to transform how we live and to elevate our experience of the world. It should never impose itself on people or on the environment, it should celebrate both, drawing people closer to one another and settling into its surroundings so naturally that it feels as though it has always been there.

So while appearance matters, it is only part of the story. I am just as concerned with how a building works: the way people move through it, the impact it has on its surroundings, the meaning it carries, and the care with which it is made.

In time the architect is forgotten, and eventually the building too. What endures is whether life was made more beautiful within its walls.
